This needs some post-work imo .

Usually better if the bird is faced towards us the viewer.

The ground section is not 100% as it is distracting with to many details.

What is that white stuff? A little section of it looks overexposed.

Best tip at this stage: Take the picture from a much lower angle. You sometimes need to lay on the ground to get it right.

Sorry razpna, this really looks like a snapshot to me. This shot would really have to be taken from a completely different angle (as Roadrunner suggested, a lower angle would probably have helped), and with a different composition to work. I can't really suggest any other cropping variations that would improve this, so I'll just say, "keep shooting and experimenting"

I would remove the tissue & make it a B&W.

I agree with Patrick. Too many elements too distract me. Ans the main "BG" colour is identically to the main subject which mingles them a bit, them you have that white stuff and the greens. I think you can do much better.

I agree that a lower angle and/or less busy background would help.

Agree with all the things that have been said.... i think the pic has too much sharpness added in photoshop...so less sharpness imo.
